  • Frank Docherty

    I have been working in security for over thirty years and have a vast amount of experience in physical security, as a bodyguard and as a member of many security teams in high profile and hazardous situations. I have been trained as a security manager and have managed security teams in government museums such as the Wallace Collection. I have also managed security teams in nightclubs that have drug and gang problems.

    I am also a professionally trained locksmith who is trained in both domestic and British Standard. 
    I am employed to go through premises and give an account of where security can be improved with both mechanical and physical security.

    I have been training in the Martial Arts for 36 years, and the English Martial Arts for 25 years.

    I have Dan grades in Jodo, and Iaido under Sensei Charles Wheaton and Sensei Don Antonio Leon. I have a black sash in Hap Kune Do under Sifu Dave Lee, and I have been boxing for 30 years .
    I have also trained in Wu style Tai Chi Chuan under Sifu Gary Wragg.
    I have trained under Grandmaster Hiroi Sensei.

    I have been promoted to Maister in the English Martial Arts after a Maisters prizing by Ancient Maister Terry Brown, I have been recently promoted to Ancient Maister by Ancient Maister Terry Brown.

    I am also a long time practitioner of the Broken Back Seax and have spent over twenty six years resurrecting the techniques and style of this ancient weapon.

    I currently teach English Martial Arts at Elstree on a Tuesday and Friday nights, I teach weapons such as Sword single, quarterstaff, sword and dagger, sword and buckler, cudgel, bill hook, threshals, Seax, dagger, and bare fist as well as self defence.

    I have been in a number of television episodes and documentaries. I have been in the documentary Black Boxers, as both stunt fighter and a role as teacher of Combat. I have been in one episode of Combat club, where I starred as a fighter, and stunt fighter, I have also been in the ITV show your shout,
